El cierre de empalme DFE101 se utiliza para facilitar las reparaciones de cables de fibra óptica. Los tamaños de fibra comunes de cables rectangulares de 8,1 mm, 5,4 mm y 5,1 mm y cables redondos de 3,0 mm y 5,1 mm se acomodan con las glándulas de sellado suministradas.
Adminte un total de 12 empalmes por fusión y 2 empalmes mecánicos que se colocan de forma segura dentro del cierre con protección al ingreso IP68. El DFE104 se puede enterrar permanentemente o montarse en el lateral de un edificio.
El DFE101 proporciona una ubicación de punto de empalme dentro de la construcción de la red, así como un punto de demarcación en las instalaciones.
